I dashed to PLDT office last week complaining about my telephone bills. I received my bill with a notice of disconnection and I didn’t know why as I thought my payments were updated. When I checked my bill statement , I was shocked then upset why my bills increased by seventy-five percent. My bill reflected ridiculous calls to a number we didn’t know. Our National Direct Call (NDD) had a personal password and I’m just wondering when I checked the last time, it went back to the default password. We suspected but couldn’t pindown the yaya at home because she didn’t know the password and doesn’t even know our number at home. I guessed that my PLDT number has been hacked. And when I went to the PLDT office, they also told me that even the PLDT employees were also victims of hacking. I had requested them to disconnect my NDD and even my landline because I will never pay the amount billed to me. I will only pay our normal rate per month. We’re not even regularly using the landline for phone calls, we’re only using it for our DSL connection. As of now, we still have the landline while they are investigating my complaint. While awaiting for the results of their investigation, I’m planning of discontinuing my subscription to PLDT landline since my husband and I both have SMART mobile subscription.
