I frequented bookstores last week and bought some books. SM National Book Store got improvements. They are now building their mezzanine floor, the reason why some books are in disarray when you enter their store. There’s also a newly opened bookstore in in NCCC Maa, “Booksale” selling second-hand books and magazines, and more magazines than Filbars, also in NCCC Maa.
Here’s what I picked.
1. The Secret Book by Rhonda Byrne: I’ve watched the DVD only twice and plan to watch it everyday. Can’t get enough of it so I bought the book which cost P 745.This is what I’m currently reading. If you want to have a positive dose daily or want to be reminded that everything is possible, get hold of this book.
2. Throwing the Elephant: Zen and the Art of Managing Up by Stanley Bing: Haven’t started reading this but this is a book that provides a thorough grounding in the Zen attitude you will need in order to move forward and control the people you work for. Because sometimes you’ve got to be selfless, compassionate, and completely empty to get the job done. Controlling? sounds natural to me.
3. My Little Picture Dictionary: This is the book that I read to Abby every single night since I bought it before I read “The Secret”. It’s been a while since she got tired of her brainy baby books series, which pages are now torn apart. I need to fix those so I can still pass it on to her cousin Anya and my brod’s upcoming December baby. The book has essential words from A-Z and I guess it helps Abby to learn new vocabularies.
4. Get Rich at Home: Do I need to say more? Everybody’s general wish…..when an 8-5 job gets unexciting.
5. Yummy: To minimize asking family members what they want to eat during weekdays and weekends. This mag has lots of simple dishes and even less ingredients. The pictures are inviting that you really have to try their dishes. I recently followed their mayo dip with yoghurt for salads.. yummy…
6. Real Simple: I like mags that have organizing ideas.I like even more their website, they’ve got tons of tips and ideas from energy saving, home inventory to traveling and others.I’ve bookmarked their site and downloaded the forms.
